sick sick sick

I have been super sick for the past few days with what I think is strep.  We went to the dr yesterday and they did a bunch of blood work and found it was not malaria which is great but my numbers for white blood cell count was sky high and my throat had big nasty white spots in it.  Fun, right?  My fever has been off and on and it is excruciating for me to try to talk.  The pain starts in the back of my throat and then has climbed up through my jaw to my teeth, the inside of my ears, behind my eyes, and then down the back of my neck.  I cant ever remember having this much constant pain with strep. ahhh!  But hopefully things will look up as the drugs kick in :)  But in the meantime, my Keenan Boy is so incredibly tender and sweet that it has brought me to tears time and time again!  He constantly asks how Im doing and bears with me in the sign language motions I have been using with a gentle smile on his face.  Then every time I shake my head no to his question of if I feel better or not, he then asks if he can pray for me.  And he does.  My sweet little 4 year old sits and closes his eyes and from his heart asks for the Lord to quickly heal his mom.  It blows me away and makes my heart hurt with love and humility.  Keenan is ridiculously amazing and I love that tender hearted guy!!  Today after school he got some paper and brought it to me and asked how to write I hope you feel better.  I wrote it down for him and a few minutes later he finished this masterpiece for his momma.  Again, tears and a hurting, swelling heart.

Snapshots of the past few weeks

We finally went to the beach that is about an hour or so from here and we had a wonderful time!!!  We have been in and out of the country for two years now and this is the first time we have made it to the beach.  We are finalizing things for the summer project that gets here the first of June and one of the things we are going to do with them is take them to the town here to work on the university for a few days building a movement that we can continue once they leave and have a couple days of R&R.  So, knowing that we had to set up housing and such before the busyness hit with the project getting here, we set out for an overnight to test the waters :).  It was more than a sucessful trip!  We found housing for a good deal, found places to eat, and had a great time playing around as a family!  One big difference with this beach though is it is not one where the kids can just go off and play letting the gentle waves lick their toes.  There are some gentle waves but every now and again there comes a big one that knocks them over and pulls them back in the water along with it.  We never left the kiddo's sides because of it.  All in all, it was a great couple of days!

Lucy was not a big fan of actually being IN the cool, noisy water but loved being in Daddy's arms!
We sat for at least 30 minutes packing mud on our legs and then letting the waves carry it away.  Every time the boys would pretend to get angry at the waves for stealing.  Loved these precious moments with the boys!  Later on when I showered though I had a very large pocket of sand in my suit from sitting in the waves so long! :)
Our room had an AC so in the morning we were all cold so we snuggled into the bed all together and just hung out for a while
Not another soul on the beach the next morning
 My sweet guys!

Lucy Mae's favorite part of the beach.  She's such a girl!
The waves were a pretty good size!!
Our little guy a mess.  He put his shoes on the wrong feet and got a little sunscreen in his eyes which made him squeeze his eyes shut tight for a very long time
 Our little family!!
We also went back to the pool and Lucy had her first swim!!!  We were afraid she would hate it since the water at this pool is a bit on the cold side but she very much enjoyed it!
 Fearless Keenan
 My sweet tender girl

So, Im pretty sure we have a picture just like this one of Keenan his first time swimming, tongue out and all!
There is a jet behind Lucy and she thought it was the funniest thing
THEEENNN these two goof balls got on a plane and headed to the happiest place on earth (Walt Disney World of course) for our dear friend Kevin's wedding.  They told me that they had the time of their lives and came back very tired for the constant partying!  I will post the wedding pictures at a later date.  These two were looking so so good in their suits!!
And the rest of us stayed here in our Disney clothes and pretended like we were with them :)
